Date: Sunday, May 1, 2022, after the service

    Place: Ev. Christuskirche, prayer room

For the first time since September 1, 1939, a major European power is waging a war of aggression and annihilation against a neighboring country. In which foreign and military policy continuities does Putin's invasion of Ukraine stand? What are the geopolitical strategic objectives of the trained KGB agent and commander-in-chief of the largest European military power? What role do foreign policy experiences with Germany since the time of Stalin and the founding of the two German states play? The lecture presents a series of problem constellations and discusses the thesis that in the long run only a politically and militarily united supranational EU state in NATO can counter the permanent Russian threat.
