During your studies, you will not only acquire a comprehensive overview of historical events, but also key skills in historical work. This includes the critical analysis of original historical sources, the use of specialist historical literature and the presentation of your research findings in various formats - from academic publications to social media.

In practice-oriented courses, you will work directly with cultural institutions and can organize your own projects such as exhibitions or internet projects in the field of public history. The History of the Present major at the LAS is equivalent to BA programs in History at many other universities, especially with a view to a subsequent Master's degree.
